The Role of Mosques in Deepening Religious Beliefs

Abstract

The tumultuous history of Islam has witnessed the influence of various internal and external elements in the field of Islamic thought and culture. Influencing and being influenced, due to the lack of necessary attention in deepening religious beliefs, which in many cases has turned opportunities into epistemological threats, so much so that in cases such as Mahdism and the uprising of Sayyid al-Shuhada (AS) when it becomes superficial and inefficient, it turns into an ideological threat such as the emergence of false claimants of Mahdism or absurdist readings on the subject of the uprising of Sayyid al-Shuhada (AS). This article tries to examine the role of mosques in deepening religious beliefs by relying on Quranic, hadith and historical sources and social realities, with a practical approach and descriptive-analytical method. The purpose of this article is to explain the role of mosques in deepening religious beliefs and in the end, it concludes that mosques in comparison with other religious places in addition to providing emotional and ritual needs, strengthen the argumentative dimensions of religious teachings and have been less affected by deviated discourses
