Abstract

Psychological verses (of the Qur'an), hadiths, and evidences indicate that faith and religiosity play an important and undeniable role in human mental health. This paper analyzes four important books of these works using the library method and states that on the one hand, faith causes man to become acquainted with God and, on the other hand, strengthens his relationship with his fellow human beings, and through this, he relieves fear and loneliness. Faith removes fear, anxiety, grief, and depression from man and gives him deep and lasting peace. It also develops man's mental capacity and raises the level of enduring hardships in him and finally, it strengthens optimism and hope for the future in him and frees him from pessimism to the system of existence and despair and a sense of emptiness.
