The Role of Saying Prayer in Reducing Novel Social Harms

Abstract

Social harms are one of the topics that have attracted the attention of social sciences experts and they have sought to know these harms and ways to fix or reduce them. In recent years, the above-mentioned harms have been more profound and expanded, and even taken new forms with the influence of technologies such as the Internet, social networks, and satellite channels. The present research specifically has dealt with the role of saying prayer in society in reducing these harms, through examining some of the most important new harms, such as the weakening and collapse of the family foundation, generation gap between children and parents, identity crisis among young people, the spread of religious doubts, the spread of unconventional relationships, sexual abnormalities. The findings of the study suggest that if the prayer is performed with all its tools and conditions in the society, it is possible to use the capacity of sin removal and purification of this great divine obligation to reduce these harms in the society
