Abstract

The confrontation of national identity with religious identity by extreme archaists is one of the basic challenges of today's society. The policies of the extreme archaists and the tricks used by them in different fields over the last hundreds years have led to the expansion of the view of antiquity among different intellectual and cultural levels in Iran. Since the founders of this trend and their successors started and continued their work in a gradual and step-by-step manner, referring to the methods and lifestyle of scholars and propagators of the past in dealing with them gives a practical model to deal with this movement, which is rapidly advancing. The findings of this research are the impenetrability of scholars; that was when many elites were deceived by the current of archaism. In addition, the priority of answering doubts and adopting cultural methods in the face of this movement, including authoring a book, has been explained. Therefore, it informs about the impenetrability of Sheikh Mortaza Ansari (1214-1281 AH), the Shia leader of the era, until the confrontation of Shahid Mortaza Motahari (1298-1358 AP) with this movement. This article, via a descriptive-analytical method, deals with the struggle of scholars, religious propagators, and Islamic seminary clerics with the phenomenon of archaism over the last hundred years and by explaining their lifestyle, with the aim of familiarizing and setting a model for the method of scholars, takes steps to confront the danger of extreme archaism
