Abstract

Sheikh Abdul Karim Haeri (1859-1936) was the author of works in Persian and Arabic. During his time, the political events and Reza Khan's coming to office brought special conditions for the religious community and especially the Islamic seminary clerics, which expanded the propagational approaches of the seminary; because the scientific approaches of the supporters of the government required a research approach in opposition to them. This study aims to analyze the way of seminary research in the era of Ayatollah Haeri, and the research approach of the seminary in this period with the aim of achieving the research strategies of the seminary in the era of Sheikh Abdul Karim, knowing the quality of research and research style of that era. This study, based on library research with the method of historical description and analysis of data, gives these results that Sheikh Abdul Karim, while providing a research platform for students, encouraged them to write and has designed and implemented writing policies in the form of "meeting the scientific needs of religious society", "combating the anti-religious writings of the Pahlavi government" and the spectrum of "dissidents". Therefore, Islamic seminary researches were considered as a ground for the publication of Haj Sheikh's political thoughts
