Abstract
The conduct (Sira*) of Lady Umm al-Banin (SA) is not merely a narrative of the life of one of the spouses of Amir al-Muminin (Imam Ali); rather, it is considered the most prominent manifestation of "Wilayah-oriented selection" in the history of Shi'ism. This study, employing an analytical-descriptive approach and drawing upon Hadith, Quranic exegesis, and biographical sources, seeks to extract the foundations of the conscious selection that leads to an individual’s acceptance into the "Party of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS)." Accordingly, the Party of the Ahl al-Bayt is not an emotional group but a faith-based and cognitive movement characterized by unity of belief, purpose, and action, standing in opposition to the "Party of Satan." The conduct of Umm al-Banin (SA), from the moment of her conscious marriage to her existential sacrifice in Karbala, demonstrates that membership in this party requires an "existential belonging" to the Ahl al-Bayt (AS)—an attachment that transcends emotional affection to the point of prioritizing the Wilayah over the lives of one's children and all worldly ties. By explaining the personality, behavioral, and identity components of this Sira, this article provides a propagation path for Wilayah-oriented identity-building in the contemporary era, showing how this model can be utilized in educational, media, and cultural contexts to counter the "illusion of attention" and strengthen "commitment-based awareness." The findings indicate that the selection of the true and steadfast exemplars of the Ahl al-Bayt (AS) is an acquired process based on faith, sacrifice, and practical commitment, rather than a merely attributed or emotional matter.
